Set to run as Scone Race 4 at 1:50pm (AEST), this year’s $140,000 Listed Coolmore Denise’s Joy Stakes (1100m) features a field of 16 three-year-old fillies.

Six of those are under double figures to win through Ladbrokes.com.au in their Denise’s Joy Stakes odds including the Gai Waterhouse-trained daughter of Not A Single Doubt Donelle who shoots for her third win on the trot this weekend.

She won first-up at Gosford on April 14 before returning a fortnight later for her latest run, a victory at Canterbury over 1110m that she’ll be looking to repeat here in black type company from a wide barrier 11 draw with Tim Clark jumping in the saddle.

Currently Donelle pays $4.80 and she’s followed in the markets by Fine Mist, also drawn double digits, in barrier 15 at a quote of $5.50.

Bede Murray’s Good Journey filly has won three from five over Saturday’s distance, including at Warwick Farm in a Benchmark 80 two back, and comes off a credible fourth behind Avoid Lightning in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 11 during The Championships.

Following in the markets are then the Sam Kavanagh-trained Palazzo Pubblico ($7.50) and Kris Lees’ Group 2 performed Onemorezeta ($8.50) who ran third in the Gosford Guineas before a disappointing 10th in the Sapphire last start.

Rounding out the fillies at single figures in the Denise’s Joy Stakes markets are then another Lees-trained filly Savoureux who comes off a first-up sixth at Warwick Farm behind Fine Mist, her stablemate Felines up in class this weekend and Like Xena at $9 each and drawn well in barriers two, four and six respectively.

Prepared by Anthony Cummings, Markane filly Like Xena shoots for her third consecutive win this weekend up in black type company after wins at Hawksbury and Canterbury in April.
